These collages were a chance for me to get comfortable in the visual realm, but they were also about crafting process. Through this step and each of those that followed, I was constantly preoccupied. “How would this shape, or this composition translate to sound?” This question was how I tried to bridge the visual to the aural.

The images above come from Roberto Matta’s Splitting the Ergo. Each relates to a word meant to generate a remove from the source material. Each collage was an attempt to create a potential graphic score that characterizes the key word for each.
